About Amantis Artisan Plaster
Heritage
For generations, plaster was more than a wall finish—it was part of the architecture itself. Homes, villas, and public spaces throughout Europe were built with handcrafted lime plasters that added warmth, texture, and permanence to every room.
Today, those techniques are becoming increasingly rare. Paint has become the standard, and many homeowners don’t realize there’s another option.
Amantis Artisan Plaster was founded to preserve those traditional techniques while making them accessible to homeowners, designers, and businesses throughout Oregon. We believe your walls should contribute to the character of your home, not simply blend into the background.
Heritage
Amantis Artisan Plaster was founded by Miles Turner, whose career brings together two worlds rarely found in one craft: artistic training and practical construction experience.
After more than 20 years working in remodeling, carpentry, drywall, and new construction, Miles apprenticed under fresco artist Stephen Michael Bennett, where he learned the traditional techniques of applying lime plaster by hand. That experience transformed the way he viewed walls—not simply as surfaces to finish, but as opportunities to create something lasting.
Today, every project reflects both that artistic foundation and decades of experience working inside people’s homes. The result is craftsmanship that is as thoughtful in its execution as it is beautiful in its appearance.
Our Values
Exceptional plaster work isn’t just about applying a finish—it’s about understanding the space, the materials, and the people who will enjoy it for years to come. At Amantis Artisan Plaster, every project is guided by a thoughtful approach that values artistry, collaboration, and lasting quality.
Every home has its own character, and every homeowner has a different vision. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions or arriving with preconceived ideas. Instead, we take the time to understand your style, answer your questions, and recommend finishes that reflect your goals, creating a space that feels authentically yours.
Exceptional plaster requires more than artistic talent—it demands technical expertise. With over 20 years of construction experience and specialized training in traditional lime plaster techniques, we bring together the creativity of an artisan with the discipline and precision of an experienced contractor.
Inviting someone into your home requires trust, and we believe that trust is earned through professionalism. From clear communication and reliable scheduling to clean, organized workspaces, we treat your home with the same care and respect we’d expect in our own. Every detail of the experience matters—not just the finished walls.
The finest finishes begin with exceptional materials. Our mineral plasters are crafted from natural lime, crushed marble, and earth-derived pigments, creating surfaces that are free from harsh chemicals, resistant to fading, and designed to age beautifully. The result is a finish that’s healthier for your home, inspired by nature, and made to last for generations.
Testimonials
The most meaningful part of our work isn't just the finished plaster—it's hearing how it transforms the way people feel about their homes. Here's what clients have shared about their experience working with Amantis Artisan Plaster.
We sought a more sophisticated look than just the ol' "orange peel" spray texture for our new walls. We were referred to Miles Turner and he brought us a dozen texture samples to choose from. He was also able to mix our favorite colors in with his plaster. Application took a couple of weeks and the results were stunning. The walls are beautiful and the texture is very satisfying! Miles is also well-versed in construction and was able to give us excellent building advice. Personable, polite and professional; highly recommended.
Amantis is my go-to for new projects and home repairs. Knowledgeable and experienced, we've hired Miles for projects ranging from repairing our marble kitchen counter, re-doing our laundry room, building a beautiful, customized wood fence and gate, among other projects. Miles gets the job done perfectly and efficiently every time, and on top of that, he is a great guy!
Miles is really good at all drywall finishing! He's a pleasure to work with and he's fairly priced. I recommend to all of my clients whenever they need drywall repair or work of any sort.
If I have a project to get done, Miles is the first one I call. Miles has led three multi-room projects at my home and has earned being my first choice when I need work done. After the initial sales pitch and signing of contracts, Miles was in charge of implementing those plans and getting it done right. He is one of very few that I trust to demolish and rebuild my home. Miles gets five stars from my wife and cats too!
Miles is extremely knowledgeable, trustworthy and efficient. He has helped with many small and large house projects, including a beautiful pergola patio covering, but especially the decorative artisan plaster wall in my basement guest room. It lights up the space beautifully. I keep Miles on speed dial!
